now out of fear of losing a player who is a freshman. Unless that player is incredibly good, and if that's the case then he is likely playing anyway.

This constant fear of "oh we may lose Z player because he didn't get the mins he wanted" is a dumb way of handling a roster.

Play the best players, figure out the best rotation (which should have been done by now), and whoever wants to leave fine.

If you are losing a conference game because you are trying to give freshman mins then you are doing it wrong.

Freshman more than ever are a complete roll of the dice until they fix the portal rules. Plus maybe that Freshman that leaves transfers to get his mins, develops into a solid player, and comes back.
