in a sport that probably 5 or 6 other schools take seriously.
And for schools like Penn State & Iowa that actually win national titles, it's a worthwhile investment.
But that's never going to happen for Mizzou. Our SEC peers are smart enough to realize that wrestling is a total waste of money. And because of Title IX, our wrestling program forces us to fund an extra money-draining women's sport as well.
If our AD were smart, it would have the minimum programs required for SEC membership in order to increase funding of the sports that actually matter.
Unfortunately, our Athletic Department has never been particularly smart or pragmatic.
