I think it hurts a little more than that. She showed last year she was capable of eating innings against SEC level competition, though not able to do so consistently. She sometimes touched 70 on the radar gun, and once hit 71 in practice. Her problems were mostly mental, in lack of consistent focus and discipline. I won’t be shocked to see her blossom into a very good pitcher.
Donahue started fall ball very poorly but came on strong, and Touchet looked to have made a big jump from her first year. We’re going to need some serious innings from both of them before it’s over.
On a different subject, FWIW, Sara Marino is apparently no longer on the coaching staff, as she is not listed on the web page. No idea what that’s about, but can’t imagine it’s accidental.
