one of the groomsmen at my daughter's wedding is absolutely brilliant yet couldn't get into med school because he was a white male from Wichita.

So after undergrad he was doing research and got published, and got published again, and got published again.

Med schools were suddenly chasing him down after telling him "no thanks".

He graduated in May and was accepted to a position in radiological surgery at Mayo.


ANd the bias towards med student admissions is very real. Keep that in mind when you choose your next doctor. Was this the BRIGHTEST and MOST QUALIFED candidate? Or was it the best applicant of color?
