they choose to. In point of fact it would make it easier for them to give higher credence to non B1G and SEC teams. They could slide more ACC, Big 12, and even G5 schools up even higher.

So no they aren't expanding the playoff for the benefit of just two conferences. You really don't understand how any of this works.

If that were in place this year what you would get as of right now is 2 additional SEC teams, 1 B1G, and 1 additional G5 school.

Aka not for B1G and SEC, and thats not even taking into consideration the additional losses those SEC teams are going to take in the next 3 weeks.
