the universities. Their rules and enforcement of them were brutally absurd... hammering schools because the coach had a cookout and the players got some free hamburgers? ... or punishing a school because one of the coaches loaned a kid some money to fly home because his (mother?) was dying or had died?

Just pure and utter stupidity.
