else. For example, a simple MOU can be like a player "committing" to a school to play football.
Why didn't UNLV go to the PAC7? PAC7 offered UNLV, it was reported. What was the offer? Did the first four schools get their exit fee paid for or partially paid? UNLV is/was in a prime catbird seat.
An early offer to UNLV from the PAC2 would have jeopardized the plan. UNLV has to go thru some committee hearing type deal in order to move conferences. The initial raid would have become public news back then. How much levarage does Reno have in keeping UNLV from leaving them behind?
What leverage does UNLV have with the Big12 or an AAC move. Talk is the conferences will blow up & UNLV would be in a position to go to the Big12. That's also in their new "agreement" with the MWC. There is now no exit fee for UNLV going to the Big12.
There is a lot more, than in my simple post, still going on here that I'm sure you are unaware.
