the poli board didn't exist no doubt some of the traffic would move to other boards on here, but some of it would go elsewhere.

As Wildcat notes there are slow/dead times with regards to the sports but the poli board keeps some people coming back for the interaction. That probably helps keep people in the habit of coming back here and helps the sports boards when they get back into action. They work in synergistic fashion in that way.
