is they're stuck with a guy who is a "populist" but feels no need to expand the tent, via policy or platform, to more people.

He's got 25 to 30% of the people via his antics, a percentage who are voting for him because of the R, some "independents" and that's it.

A true populist would be trying to expand the tent.
