EVIDENCE which can be believed or disbelieved. Many times jurors “believe” that the defendant committed a crime, but, following the judge’s instructions, they do not feel that guilt was proven “beyond a reasonable doubt” - thus an acquittal.
There may have been little or no corroborating evidence but it is absolutely incorrect to say there was NO evidence.
