4 years earlier LBJ and the rest of the administration knew that the Gulf of Tonkin incident never occurred. He even stated “Hell, those dumb stupid sailors were just shooting at flying fish.” A year later he said, “For all I know, our Navy was shooting at whales out there.”


But we saw the result of that was thousands of us boys killed, a humiliating defeat, and the destruction of millions of people’s lives in Southeast Asia. Compare that response to this actual attack on us sailors by Israel. Nothing but disrespect towards our servicemen and cowardice towards Israel on the part of US.
