It's the jury relying on their conscience and their understandings of right vs. wrong. Why should magnitude of the injury matter to a juror exercising that process? Shouldn't the jurors do what they believe is right in all instances regardless of magnitude of injury?
Also, isn't the magnitude of injury pretty high here? We have a leading presidential candidate that is the subject of a political witchhunt over a non-crime from a decade ago.
