Third, if you offer enough money, the NBA talent *will come*. How many schools (via their donors/boosters) are spending $4M+ in the portal in basketball? Very few, if any. So the point is, in theory, why pay a mediocre basketball coach like Gates $4M+ if — as many of you claim in his defense — it's all about the "jimmies & joes" ?
