Dropping the "non-salary compensation" component from the buyout calculation.
Contract states the buyout figure is half the base salary + non-salary compensation + deferred compensation remaining on the deal with the buyout paid in equal installments over the remaining term of the contract. That's 52 months at $62,500/month which equals $3.25mm. The non-salary compensation is $350k/year - $29k/month. Half of the remaining total over the remainder of the term is about $760k which bring the total near the $2.5mm amount mentioned in Eli Hoff's story.
