Decide that the reason or motivation for passing a certain law or amendment, makes it less of a law or less enforceable.

It's either a law or it is not. If it's not, they should repeal it. If it is, we have to obey it. (Unless you're a sovereign citizen like The Idiot or his idiots).

I still don't believe it applies here to Trump, I think that's absolutely ludicrous. But if you attack the ruling on the basis that "they didn't really mean it" I think we're on dangerous ground.
