decision. ED basically used the same philosophy that Andy Reid did against the Lions this season.
4th and 32 at your own 28. If you punt it back to LSU's offense they have a longer field. You run a play and possibly draw a penalty or even if very slight you get a first down. If not then LSU only has 28 yards to work with and then possibly kick a field goal and you still can win with a TD.
I think the dumb part was the play they executed. Not the decision to go for it.
And actually him going for it kind of worked anyway. LSU failed to get a first down and Missouri got the ball back.
So why was it a dumb decision and how would it have worked out better if he just punted it back to them?
