I think it would be fine. Pickle made an interesting observation below in regards to job description. If the person was in charge of security and theft prevention, would he have the ok to use force to go obtain the property? If it escalated to the point of death, is it allowable justified at that point?

I, like others, would certainly not celebrate his death, but I do think the property owner (and its employees) do have a right to their property.
