In these circumstances.
They should be in charge of forecasting, communicating, logistical support, setting up safe areas, providing food and shelter when possible, and yes, providing financial assistance for people who have been devastated.
As opposed to the freedom lovers, who would just let the children burn alive. That's much easier and it's a good example of the freedom they want.
Someone in Maui waited five hours before releasing water to fight the fire in the early stages. Should his job have been eliminated or should he be eliminated?
Who is going to decide and coordinate all of the activities around the island to get proper information and resources in proper places at the proper time.
I know, let them all burn.
I believe the Maui fire provides a great example of what happens when government decides to be for freedom, and sit on their hands and do nothing while children burn alive.
Mismanagement by government does not mean we should eliminate government, it means to improve government by eliminating the slugs running it.
The Florida example is what happens when the government responds appropriately and effectively and is not run by affirmative action managers who are chosen because they like to screw guys or because they wear a diaper on their head.
