I was playing a round with the wife and adult kid. So late in the round we were on the tee when this partially drunk guy comes up behind us and starts blarring his bluetooth speaker and screaming right in our ears (presumably ****ed at us for respecting the tradition) as he was obviously new money. I mean it was so loud my kid had to cover her ears so I got in the guys face and started yelling back in his face when he would whistle and was saying ‘not your tee dude!’ I was defending my family’s honor and eardrums and clinched my fist in my pocket ready for a scrum if he laid a hand on us. He eventually went back to his cart but it kinda ruined our mood.
Im a somewhat methodical guy (and likely slowing his pace) but people in front of us were slow some too..anyway I was prepared for battle but I have a nice job and was thinking those 2-3 minutes wow is a potential assault charge and maybe losing your career over this little thing worth it? It obviously deescalated on its own but just curious what some of you dudes would of done or prepared to do if he shoved me or a family member for example (not punched) or just kept whistling and screaming intentionally in our ears to provoke us?
Ive had another scenario where 3-4 well
built teenage males were in close quarters with us and were dropping the F
bomb right in front of my kid—I debated whether to tell
them to knock it off and potentially getting a
beat down by a bunch of testosterone loaded teen boys…do you say something to defend your daughter and risk a beat down in front of her or just mind your oen business?
