Common courtesy is to:
(a) ask your group if it's ok;
(b) ask your group if they have a preference of music;
(c) turn it down in situations where you're in contact with other groups and they're hitting (i.e., you roll up to them and they're on the tee box).
I played in a scramble a month ago, the guy on the cart with me was playing music, and I literally...*don't remember hearing the music while playing any shot that round*.
It's not a big deal unless you're completely mental with your golf game. If that's the case, it sucks to suck.
