was a line of code that just made the computer beep. there was another line of code that was a countdown. we used to start a countdown routine that would then kickoff a beep routine when it was done. at the end of class we'd set the countdown for like 37 minutes or something on all the computers then turn off the monitors so it would look like they were off, then leave. then halfway through the next class's lecture all the computers in the back of the room would start beeping and the teacher would have to go around and shut them all down.
