And college sports is deemed to be an educational opportunity. You are correct that other laws would apply, but they would likely apply in addition to Title IX, not in place of it. The only thing that would take Title IX out of it is if a court found that the fact that athletes are paid as employees means that athletic participation is no longer an educational opportunity. I think that is a highly unlikely outcome.
