Clearly he wasn't the best qualified person for the job... his record at Memphis was so/so at best. There are other more qualified candidates up and down College Baseball at all levels who have a better track record of success. And they are making way less than 600K.

He was hired because of his ties to Mizzou and his Race that is obvious... not his overall prowess as a top flight manager of the game.

But with that said I think he is highly motivated to do a great job and if he is given the support he deserves then he can bloom into a great Manager.
