that excuse isn't super compelling to me when Tennessee (spends way more than MU) and Kentucky (spends more, but not that much more than MU) have similar weather and average temps and do much better than MU at baseball. Remember Knoxville is in the Mountains. Even Arkansas is pretty cold in the early months of the season. Not that much better than Columbia. Obviously it's a big disadvantage compared to schools like Florida and LSU, but other programs with similar weather concerns and with various amounts of spending have out performed MU.
