ages or even 1941 now. Those nations have a right to self determination. The Poles are Catholics and use an alphabet much closer to English than Cyrillic. Same with the Croats. The Serbs are orthodox and use the Cyrillic alphabet. There are significant distinctive cultural differences between the groups. If they wanted to be together, Yugoslavia (which was never a nation until the fall of Austria-Hungary and was essentially an invention of the treaty of Versailles) would have remained a nation.
