IB has put themselves into an impossible situation

They went all in, and have to stay all in and deal with the loss of sales and hope it works itself out in the future.
If you start firing people or change course, you put yourself in the trans mob's crosshairs by admitting you were "wrong" for therefore going against them, which no major companies have been willing to do at this point because of the backlash. Even the few conservative companies just say nothing instead of getting involved. IB has made themselves directly involved.
The thing is, basically every large consumer company has shown they are pro LGBTQ in their own way. Coors Light is the primary sponsor for the pride parade in Denver. No one seemed to really care. IB just took it one step further with Bud Light by putting one of them as a brand ambassador and even reportedly on cans. I guess for a lot of people that was crossing the line with it.
