And there is a major role for government in each of the others, arguably the lead role in all of them.

Is it possible that NGOs can do better, yes.
Is it likely, no.

You believe things get screwed up because the people who did it work for something called...the government.

Things get screwed up because the people doing the screwing are incompetent or corrupt or just stupid. You act as if those three traits magically disappear if it's a private business.

Maybe not.

Let me ask you a question, do you believe each of the items I listed should be either done away with or privatized with no government involvement of any kind?
