Why did Mizzou come out so flat against Princeton? Did they over look them? Was Gates outcoached? No. The energy expended(great coaching) to beat Utah St. cost Mizzou in the following game.

Mizzou guarded Utah St. U P 3/4 court to force them to start their offense higher up and reduce Utah St time running their offense. It worked but it cost Mizzou their legs. Mizzou has not been this aggressive on defense due to basically playing 7 guys over the last 10 games.

The loss of Gomillion, DeGray & Mosely combined with the regression of Mo forced Coach Gates to press with a 7 man rotation (Mo played 3 minutes vs Utah St). The tournaments 1 day recovery plus the pressing defense was too much to overcome. Brown & Hodges's legs were shot!

More talent (coming) and dependable players(Mosely not) coach Gates will have Mizzou making noise in SEC & NCAAs.
