by 1 vote. For those voting to go to 4 days (none offered a benefit to the student), it was only about "teacher retention."
My reaction to this video is that some kids should just be relegated to a 0-day school week. Let the Nintendo baby sit them. Yes, it starts at home. That is never going to change. It's generations of no examples for parenting coming home to roost.
Subjecting the majority of kids who don't want this kind of chaos in their lives isn't fair. Older generations didn't have to put up with this bullsh#t, so why should todays? Instead of sending all of them home for an extra weekend day, because teachers can't handle the chaos for 5 (robbing the innocent of their opportunity to learn), send them home. Make the problem the parents' problem. Don't let them push that responsibly off on everyone else.
