in my teaching career but things have changed of late. I have broken up dozens of fights in my day and have only been hit by a student once and that kid was trying to hit the girl I was holding back but hit me by mistake.

Until recently the students were very careful about not striking a teacher because they knew it was an automatic expulsion. Today many simply don't give a f*ck.
