Of those 1.7 million, 17,xxx have CLOSED audits (1% of the 1%) 5,xxx are still in process
Those 17k had an average of $40,xxx EXTRA tax collected, or a total of $675,xxx,xxx.
You would need 10x the audits of the 1% to cover the added agents at $80k per agent.
BTW, that top 1%, on $2,332 billion of AGI, paid $814 billion in income tax - 35%
