with Trump going scorched earth and blowing things up. Two possible if unlikely other scenarios. And this first is a longshot at best. Trump is somehow able to reign in his worse self and maintain some form of what we saw last night. Again, I don't see this happening, but it would put a much different face Trump. I still don't think even if he could pull this off for 2 years that some would change the views of some needed to win.
Other possibility is Trump is Trump, and DeSantis plays is just as he is now. Cool, principled, effective, and in control. The hardest of hard core Trump supporters never move, but many of us who supported Trump's policies and work even if we chafed at his antics, support the DeSantis (or other nominee) and enough Independents and upset dems join to make it viable.
