You don't feel an escalation with boards like this, and echo chambers and "free speech absolutist" sites like 4chan? People can access fringe toxicity in a very mainstream way now, literally 24 hours a day.

Seems to me a response like Sal's is indicative of a person who has genuinely no empathy which is learned. And spending 20 years talking about genuine hatred for a group of people would be plenty to learn and solidify that lack of empathy.
