people who have not set foot in a public school in decades show up at school board meetings if you start talking about closing down the school they graduated from thirty years ago.

Central High was designed to house about 2000 students, their enrollment is 400 this year.

When I started in the district back in 1990 the district enrollment was almost 30k and the district had ten high schools. Today their enrollment is about 14k and they have six high schools.

It cost a ton of money to keep half-empty schools open. It's not like anyone is expecting an attendance rebound anytime soon either.

Please explain why this message is being reported.
