also don't really think it matters.

IMO MLB baseball manager is one of the least impactful positions is all of sports. If the Royals had the best manager in the history of the game at the helm this season they still would not have cracked .500. The pitching staff was horrid and nothing any manager could do would have fixed that.

It sounds like they are making system wide changes, that has to happen before a managerial hire makes any difference. Dayton was in charge for well over a decade and in that time the system did not produce a single ace or even a top of the order starter.

Produced some talent then find a manager who can coach them to a title.
