Things are actually really bad for Russian troops, hence the desperation moves that Putin is engaging in.
Douglas Macgregor is a paid Putin shill. I believe nothing he says. He has also never dealt with Ukraine and was never an operational commander. He was a grunt on the ground who has now sold his soul to the devil for a few bucks.
On the other hand, if you want accurate information, read or listen to what retired Lt. General Ben Hodges has to say. He was Commanding General of American troops in Europe. He's actually a guy who tells the truth and isn't lying out of his butt. He's also one of the few experts in dealing with Ukraine vis-a-vis military training and war operations.
