Ukraine either joins NATO or Zelensky gets UN troops along the border or Ukraine gets better weapons and is more able to defend itself. Don't be surprised if, in the aftermath, Putin or his successor tries to absorb Belarus.

The new normal will be different. It has to be otherwise Russia will be incented to try it again. It's not like their leaders a give a f*ck about their citizens.
