Trump is notorious for not knowing how anything works, not following protocols or procedures, not complying with requests, not being trustworthy, and spinning every opportunity into casting himself as a victim. That is literally the embodiment of who he is as a person and its the very qualities that all of his remaining supporters admire about him.
So he took things that per federal law he was not permitted to because he didn't know he couldn't, lied when it was discovered, didn't comply when it was requested to follow correct protocol, and was obstructing the proper processes while also demonstrated to have a perpetual habit of destroying such documentation and having a litany of legal cases open that would further heighten his motivation to not comply since he doesn't know how anything works and has so much to hide. So via the correct channels and processes the information was re-obtained to both the country and his own protection so he didn't further incriminate himself, and in unsurprising fashion he played the victim card. Then his usual idiot enablers came to his defense.
Its the same thing that has happened hundreds of times over and over since he came into public office. How do you expect the documents that he was federally prohibited from possessing would be retained and the risk that he would act improperly be mitigated....by allowing him to act in a responsible manner based on the normal protocols? That is so silly it hardly even makes sense to type as a plausible scenario.
