The drought tolerance of crops, especially corn, is incredible now. Last year would have been a disaster if we had seed genetics from even 10 years ago.

Depending on where you live, irrigation helps you get more and better yields, and from what I have spoken to some, can give you a great payback for just one "dry' season.
