Don't sell us short or assume the SEC had better options and did us a favor:
• The flagship university of a top 20 state, with 2 major TV markets.
• The only power conference school in the state.
• An AAU member, and one of only 63 schools to have that distinction.
• A rich history in college sports, from the Big 6 to Big 8 to Big 12 to SEC.
• A nationally recognized brand in "Mizzou".
• Perfectly geographically situated for the SEC (4 border states).
• Expands the footprint in a meaningful way, plus a good cultural fit.
• Natural rivalries with Arkansas and future-member Oklahoma.
• Helps "bridge" the west-ward expansion to Oklahoma, adding further synergy.
Mizzou is in the middle tier of the conference in terms of total value-add.
