From what I remember Trump kept telling his generals he wanted to draw down troops from the Middle East and to withdraw from there. His generals were fighting him every step of the way. They delayed his actions as he deferred to their expertise regarding the dangers of drawing down the number of troops too quickly, but he kept pushing them to get us out of there.
As to the number of future abortions, I disagree with you. I think some 14 states have outlawed abortion, with Missouri being the first to do so... yay. From what I've read they're expecting about 25 or 26 total to outlaw it in a relatively short time frame, and perhaps a number of others to follow suit with in few years or so. Some, such as California, New York & Illinois will have radically liberal abortion policies, of course, but overall if half of the country outlaws it and others put significant restrictions on it there should be a significant fall in the number of unborn children intentionally killed. Not as many will be saved as should be saved to be sure, but still a significant number will be.
