issue pushing people away from the Democrats would be their radical shift from and rejection of Christian morality, and even from reality. Their embrace of socialism/communist ideals including violence to get what they want alienates them from the rational people with at least some semblance of morals even more.
Their radical promotion of abortion at any time, for any reason, by any method, no matter how brutal up to birth, or in some cases even after birth, is but one example. Championing government funding of the mass slaughter is but one more nail in that coffin.
Championing idiocy like men can have periods and babies and women can have penises alienates millions of others who just aren't quite ready to completely let go of reality and sanity.
Again, I don't live in the south, but it seems to me that blaming the catastrophe that the Democratic Party has become on racism is a cheap shot and yet another example of their break from reality.
