Christian Jones is further and final data point. Coach wanted to save a kid from East STL. Good intentions. Coach lived that dream. I respect coach for it. HOWEVER, that was not his job. Jones is talented enough for UIC not Mizzou and the SEC. We didn’t pay coach gobs of dough to do good nor elevate kids plights. Now, it both off those happen WHILE FIELDING A WINNING TEAM. Amen!!

Coach got his priorities crossed between what he was paid to do and what he felt was right. I applaud his attempt. To be true to both would have been ideal. Losing and losing and losing and under recruiting did him in. I hope he uses his retirement to pursue his true north which appears to be helping…..with no winning attached.
Side note: Helpers make about $10/hour rather than millions per year.
