Car lots are not overflowing with enough electric cars for the American market, or anywhere close to it.
Electric vehicles make up something like 2% of the American market & I think that may include hybrids and plug in hybrids. There is a pressing chip shortage for all cars at the moment... and there are many millions of gasoline and diesel powered vehicles on the roads that have many more years of useful life left in them.
There is a high, unmet demand for gasoline & diesel fuel and that won't be going away in the near future regardless of what policies you think Biden and Co might be able to make to transition to electric vehicles.
