In general, your stupid "gamble" in the OP would be a nearly 99% win for someone wishing to beat COVID with their immune system. As is proven now and was proven before the vax came about.

Obviously, there are certain risk factors for some individuals that would decrease someone's chances of surviving COVID without the vaccine, but you said nothing about that.
