your choice is more meaningful is just silly.

The per 40 stats can be useful to see how much impact a player is having while they are in the court. When Durugordon is on the court he is making things happen. Sometimes this would suggest that he should get more time, sometimes a players numbers will fall if they get more PT. That is what makes a stat like this useful.

Every stat can be useful if evaluated correctly. But you have to understand the stat and the mathematics behind the stat.
