what they can accomplish, especially if there isn't at least some progress forward in ensuing years. Just the way things are in college football these days.

Fans may pay to buy tickets to a game with an unknown coach out of curiosity. They won't pay for a middling coach, especially one that puts out teams that demonstrate lack of effort, preparation, etc. This is exaggerated when said team doesn't have a lack of skill or talented recruits.
