Dan Mullen is proof that sometimes a great coach & recruiter

can have a REALLY BAD season (even one who inherits a loaded roster at a program with all the advantages).
IMO, Florida should be patient with him. He's an a**hole at times but a great coach nevertheless, and I doubt they could find someone better to replace him.
Now consider Drinkwitz...
He's young, learning on the job, and recruiting at the highest level MU has ever seen. That means *high potential* but probably some bumps along the way. I think we'll be competitive by 2023, but there's no guarantee the stars will align, even if they "should" based on recruiting and coaching ability (as in Mullen's case).
The moral of this story is that fans should be patient when a coach has high potential. TCU recently fired Gary Patterson. He's gotten older, but I doubt they'll find a better coach.
IMO, Mullen should get another couple years to fix things at Florida.
And Drink, considering what he inherited and being at a relative disadvantage to SEC bluebloods like Florida, should probably get at least 6 years (not counting the initial "COVID" season).
