and agree that it means that .5% were getting infected every day by the end of the study.
It's been awhile since I have taken statistics, so maybe someone could crunch the numbers for us:
If .5% of Americans were infected with {some new disease} every day, what percentage of Americans would be infected after 200 days? What percentage after a year? ... perhaps using an expected value or 1 or 2 standard deviations.
I am sure it would be "most" Americans would be infected.
If you were asked prior to 2020 "If most people vaccinated with a vaccine for a new disease would in fact become infected with that disease within a year, would you consider that a 'vaccine'?" what do you think your answer would have been?
