that those with substance abuse disorders had much higher rates of breakthrough cases, and that was the main focus of the study. But their data also showed the extremely high rates of breakthrough cases for those without SUDS, their control group in this study.
There were 550,000 people without SUDS in that study. Their rate of breakthrough cases rapidly went up over time.
The other point you conveniently left out was that the breakthrough rate you were pointing to was stretched out to December 2020 when the vaccines were approved, but virtually no one was vaccinated at that point in time. That is why Berenson said that using a start date of April 2021 would give a more accurate picture.
I looked it up and by April 26, 2021 some 29.6% of the people in the US had been fully vaccinated. Using that as the start date about doubled the breakthrough rate.
But if we look at what was going on by August an even starker picture emerged. 1 in 200 people PER DAY were having breakthrough infections!
Wouldn't that mean that at that rate most fully vaccinated people would be infected within a year?
What kind of vaccine is that?
